In December 2012, Sarah Mason our Regional Finance & Training Manager was awarded a scholarship to attend a five day Training Institute convened by Women Against Violence Europe (WAVE).
The focus of the institute, which was held in Vienna in Austria, was the exchange of experiences regarding the protection and support of women and children in high risk situations. 19 delegates from 16 countries across Europe participated in the training.
Over the course of the week, Sarah and the other delegates shared their experience and practice in the field of domestic abuse, and learned about the differing levels of work being carried out across Europe. The event provided a great opportunity to share some of our best practice in Northern Ireland and the UK, and improve our network of contacts across Europe.
