Women’s Aid Federation Northern Ireland will hold their Annual General Meeting on Friday 26 October 2012, in the Ramada Plaza Belfast, Shaw’s Bridge.
The theme of this year’s meeting is ‘Journey to Freedom: Highlighting Womens Aid Support Services’, and will include a speech from guest-speaker Nandi Jola of Women’s Intercultural Network.
Journey to Freedom is a Women’s Aid programme for victims of domestic violence and abuse. It provides a safe and supportive group process to enable women to explore their experiences of domestic violence and to empower them to move on. Journey to Freedom employs a flexible, self help-based approach, and is steered and informed by the participants themselves. There is no right, no wrong, no teachers and no students.
Registration for the AGM starts at 10am, and will open at 10.15am with a welcome from Christine Whiteman, Chair of Women’s Aid Federation Northern Ireland. The event will wrap up at 1pm with the launch of the new Women’s Aid Federation Northern Ireland website. Lunch is provided.
