Workers and volunteers from our 24 Hour Domestic & Sexual Violence Helpline were delighted to attend this years’ annual St Patrick’s Day Celebration in Parliament Buildings, Stormont. The event aimed to recognise the contribution of people involved in dealing with domestic abuse.
The event host, Mr William Hay MLA, Speaker of the Northern Ireland Assembly, told attendees:
This evening I want to recognise the tireless enthusiasm and efforts of all the voluntary and community organisations that provide invaluable support to victims as they deal with their physical injuries and emotional traumas caused by domestic abuse.On behalf of the Executive I want to particularly thank Women’s Aid for the outstanding role they play in this work.
