Women’s Aid groups provide support and information through community based resource centres. Emotional and practical support is offered along with legal, welfare and housing advice.

Some community resource centres offer a “one stop shop” facility, where access to a range of professions and services is provided under one roof at one time. This can include a representative from the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI), a solicitor etc.

Some community resources can offer crèche facilities while women get the support they need. Some Women’s Aid groups also offer one to one support that can include counselling.

Many community resource centres offer a range of personal development opportunities for women. These include information sessions, social events and a range of personal development group work programmes including Journey to Freedom and You and Me, Mum.
